We started building the hay shed on October 14.  They brought in a truck load of materials, unloaded and staged them.  On October 17 they started digging the holes for the poles.  First the contractors ran into extremely hard ground and then when they were able to get through the top 3 or 4 feet they ran into gravel.  The gravel kept falling back into the hole.  They ended up bringing in large cardboard tubes to slide into the holes an then they hand dug out the gravel.  Whew.

It also ended up being one of the more windy days we have had in a very long time.  Wind at 55 mph with gust up in the 70's plus ........

Today is November 4, all is done except the roof cap and some trim.  Will be able to hold 6 stacker loads, of hay, per bay.  A stacker load is 154 small squares/bales weighing about 65# a piece.  Will keep the far bay for storage of the tractor(s), Kabota with hay trailer and feed storage area.
